“Paper cut is my passion and its one of the oldest art forms, that can be traced back to AD 105, when paper was invented in China.
When I choose a paper, I usually go by its contents. Like a sculptor, I vision the 3D aspect of the idea: the artwork already within the paper.
Texture and color have to correspond with theme and image. I work, mostly with paper but sometimes I utilize metal sheet as well.
Over a decade ago, I started out creating little bookmarks, which quickly grew out into large art pieces. Earth, Nature and its gods, along with a long ribbon of myth and storytelling are some of the resources I use in my themes.
My scissors drawings interwove multi-cultural stories of folk tradition and mythology. I like to give them a modern appeal and design within my work.”
