If you have the balding gene, thinning will occur whether you thin with shears or not.
You can use the shears so much that it feels too thin but it will grow back. Just do thinning a little at a time until it feels good.

Using the thinning shears wont make you go bald, but if you use them too much itll give the illusion that you are balding, as you’re hair will start to look very thin. And if you aren’t careful you can actually use them to cut the hair. I don’t reccomend you try doing it yourself either.
