What do you think of Uggs and why?

Do you know how they get the skin from the sheep???????? Here's a excerpt from savethesheep.com:

Mulesing is a gruesome procedure in which farmers flip lambs onto their backs, restrain them between metal bars, and use gardening shears to cut huge chunks of flesh from their rumps without any painkillers whatsoever. Mulesing is a cheap, crude attempt to create smooth, scarred skin that is resistant to blowfly maggots which can eat sheep alive. However, the enormous, bloody wounds can attract the very flies the procedure is supposed to repel, and lambs sometimes get flystrike before they even heal from the traumatic ordeal.

Think about it, as you walk in your Uggs, you are stomping on an abused, tortured animal whose last memory was being trampled alive on an overcrowded ship are being thrown into a grinder!!!!!!!!!!!!

all that and they're ugly to boot. (Pun intended.)

Personally, I think animal abuse is horrible. There is no reason to put animals through such torture……especially for UGLY Ugg boots.

I didn't know about that. That's awful!
But I don't own Uggs, so I guess it's a good thing I never invested my money in that! I actually don't like how they look very much. They seem… frumpy.

Well, I like fake Uggs because they don't abuse animals but the fashion part of Uggs all depends on where you live and what season it is. In chilly winter places, like Minnesota and Chicago, Colorado, Uggs are great and totally in-style for fall and winter but NOBODY should EVER wear uggs in spring or summer!

Wear the fake ones. No one is hurt in the process and they are much cheaper. Okay Nancy Drew now look up Wallabys the shoes that were so popular in the 70's. That will give you an eye full too

Are you complaining about the boots or the treatment of the sheep?
Because you do know that UGGs are bi-products of the sheep killed for meat, so when you think about it if you're not a vegetarian but are complaining about UGGs being inhumane that makes you a hypocrite.
But I'm an animal lover so I know what you mean about horrible treatment in slaughterhouses….

Do they really use the skin to make boots? Wouldn't it just be the fur for the inside?

I obviously don't wear them, but your not stepping on an abused tortured animal, just it's skin.

Besides aren't what they doing is just trying to save the sheep from getting hurt in the future?

I think they are hideous and over priced. A couple of years ago you would have been given the weirdest looks if you were walking around in WINTER BOOTS with fur on it in SUMMER.

I was a 90's kid so I grew up seeing lot's of sandals… Sometimes with socks. YIKES!!! When I first saw Ugg's it was the polar opposite of the sandals craze. So at first I loved them… However now it seems like they're really catching on and I'm starting to get sick of seeing them. I don't miss sandals with socks though…

Well I think they're damn ugly, and I can't help but roll my eyes when I see blond chicks in mini's wearing them. I know one woman who wears one (a former coworker of my GF) unfortunately I'm not tight enough with her to say something. Friends don't let friends wear uggs.

wells when you think of uggs you think of winter right? wrong the thing about uggs is that people wear them durning the summer so idk what point of having the. when i first saw them i thought that they would be made for keeping your feet warm but there not they are just fashionable.so i really hate them boots are not a good reason to kill sheep………….hope this help

OKAYYY; "<3", shut your freaking mouth. just because we stand up for animals doesnt mean we AGREE with things that go on in third world countries having to do with politics, religions, sex, race, etc. that is a completely different conversation and i think its sick that you would pin the fact that no one is helping people on the other side of the world, on ppl like us who just care about animal torture awareness. if you want to help those ppl, get off your stupid computer, grow some stones and go HELP them; go do something useful with your life instead of degrading someone elses point of view. so why dont you just go do what you probably always do and eat some chicken wings and think about how that poor animal lived its life in less than half a sq ft of space and was fed steroids their whole life, debeaked with a burner as soon as it hatched and brutally slaughtered so that you could go to mcdonalds drive through order your gross super sized fried death and get as fat and lazy as youve probably become by now, and stop being liberal-hating, selfish, fat, uneducated, uninformed brat.
