Seems like we don’t see Sarah Michelle Gellar much in the headlines any more, but she’s recently had a few hairstyles that have been copy-cat worthy, like this one here. The beachy waves look great, the length looks great, the volume is just right – although we suspect the use of thinning shears! Overall it’s just a nice – and enviable! – look!

But don’t think maintaining this type of style is just a walk in the park! Here are some tips from sheknows.com

1. Long hair requires allot of maintenance, focus and commitment to achieving healthy long strands.

2.  Try to buy haircare products that are specifically meant or close enough to your hair type, texture and condition.

3. If you have a habit of putting your hands through your hair to “finger rake or finger pick” it is key to make sure your nails are trimmed to avoid snagging and damaging your hair.

4.  One of the most common hair mistakes is improper, excessive or lack of proper conditioning.

5.  Depending on how the hair is braided, bun or twisted your hair can take on different textures and waves so experiment with different formations to see what you like best.

6. Never use rubber bands on your hair, yes many did it “back then” but it is proven to be very damaging to your hair.
